DAVAO CITY- The Office of the Vice President is planning to increase its present number of satellite offices with new ones to be set up in different parts of the country.
“Sa pagkakaalam ko this year magkakaroon ng plano na additional dalawang satellite offices at ang target natin eh yung lugar na accessible sa public, (To my knowledge there are plans of additional two satellite offices the targets are places accessible to the public)” says OVP spokesperson Atty. Reynaldo Munsayac during the I-Speak Media Forum held today (March 9 ) at the City Hall.
The OVP is planning have one satellite office in Bicol Region and one in Northern Luzon.
“Magkakaroon sa Bicol Region this year, then yung Isabela area magkakaroon tayo dun (We will have a satellite office in Bicol and also in Isabela),” says Munsayac.
Aside from satellite offices they are also establishing public assistance extension offices to cater to the needs of the public.
“Marami talaga iyan kasi ang intention naming talaga doon sa mga areas minsan bihira yung makapunta ang ating government agencies kasi remote talaga maglalagay kami dun para may matakbuhan sila (There will be many of these public extension offices our intention is for the areas since sometimes it isn’t reached by the government agencies as it is remote, we will put an office there where the public can run to),” Munsayac said.
According to Munsayac, the offices will go a long way aside from the local government unit there is another office which can provide medical assistance, guarantee for medicine, and burial assistance.
Currently the OVP has seven satellite offices which are located in Bacolod City, Tandag (Surigao del Sur), Davao City, Cebu, Tacloban, Dagupan and Zamboanga. (PIA/RG Alama)
