NAGA CITY (PIA)— BHTv Managing Director Ruel Saldico recently re-launched his social news website in this city through a simple blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony held March 8, Wednesday at A&A Building, Concepcion Pequeña, this city.
“With the social media emerging as the fastest and most convenient source of news and information about current events, I think re-instituting what my wife, Lanie and I started in July 2019 is my way of contributing a wealth of factual information to the public. BHTv was born out of that vision,” Saldico said in an interview with the Philippine Information Agency-Camarines Sur.
With the addition of current news, public affairs, educational programs, and pertinent information, BHTv's viewers and followers have grown dramatically over time.
The Bicol Press Club will also hold their office at BHTv's new headquarters, with Saldico serving as the organization’s president.
Mayor Nelson Legacion who was invited to lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony during the media office’s opening, commended Saldico for his initiative to serve as one of the society’s watchdogs who can offer up to date, accurate and factual news and information.
"We warmly welcome BHTv, led by Ruel Saldico, here in Naga City. Such endeavor is commendable since our city government views our media friends as allies in getting the word out to the locals, Legacion remarked.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Camarines Sur Provincial Head Jay Percival Ablan stated that as the department's long-time spokesperson in the past years, he is aware of the significance of the media in the timely distribution of information.

“BHTv will continue to deliver relevant information that will help in raising the awareness of the public, especially in information that matters to them. I would like to thank the city government of Naga under the stewardship of Mayor Nelson Legacion, our media friends, our advertisers, sponsors, other private partners, most especially the Philippine Information Agency-Camarines Sur provincial office under the headship of its provincial head, Ninang Lizel Macatangay for the continued support to BHTV,” Saldico added.
Saldico started his media career in 2000 as student patrol in DZGE, a local radio station in Naga City. He held the position as Production Manager at DWSS FM Naga and is currently the Manila Broadcasting Company’s RH18 as DZRH correspondent since 2007. Since 2018, he has served as president of Bicol Press Club (BPC).
