KIDAPAWAN CITY, Cotabato Province (PIA) -- A P20 million building by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will soon rise in the province of Cotabato to strengthen the agency's research and development, technology transfer, and science innovation.

DOST 12 Regional Director Engr. Sammy Malawan, recently signed the program of works for the construction of the 2.5-story building funded under the Office of 2nd District Representative Rudy Caoagdan.

The new DOST provincial building will be constructed in a 400-square meter lot in Barangay Magsaysay, Kidapawan City donated by the city government.

The signing of the memorandum of agreement and the groundbreaking activity was already conducted last year while construction of the facility is expected to commence next month.

The building will house a science and technology (S and T) hub, technology business incubator center, science and technology training center, research and development center, and other S and T facilities.

“The new building would greatly enhance the delivery of science and technology services in the province,” Malawan said.

He added that the facility is a testament to the government's commitment to advancing science and technology in the region.

Meanwhile, the construction of the new DOST building is expected to provide a conducive and modern working environment for DOST personnel and clients in the region.

The building will also symbolize progress and innovation that will inspire and motivate the community to pursue excellence in science and technology. (PIA Cotabato City)
