QUEZON CITY, (PIA) --The City Government of Valenzuela, in partnership with the Ateneo Center for Education Development (ACED), recently launched the Enhanced K to 6 Citywide Feeding Program at Apolonia F. Rafael Elementary School (AFRES), Brgy. Mapulang Lupa.
As part of the award-winning Education 360 Degrees Investment Program, the project aims to fight malnutrition in the city, specifically with wasted and severely wasted students in Kinder to Grade Six.
Some 4,684 beneficiaries will undergo a feeding program for 70 days, to entice the beneficiaries, those who will be able to finish the program will receive a gift certificate as an incentive.
During the launch, Mayor WES Gatchalian, Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, and Project Officer Joel Luanzon of ACED led the oath taking of the parent volunteers, the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement.
Part of the program launch were COVID-19 vaccination drive, free checkup for kids through the City’s Mobile Medical and Dental Clinic, and a Food Safety and Nutrition lecture for parents of the beneficiaries. (pio valenzuela/ pia-ncr)
