Ilocos Sur gov't to roll out jobs fair anew

VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur (PIA) – The provincial government of Ilocos Sur, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment, will roll out its third ONE Ilocos Sur job fair and one-stop-shop on Friday, March 17 at Santa Cruz Cultural Tourism and Trade Center in Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur.


Interested provincial residents may apply to the 17 hiring local companies with more than 3,200 job openings and five hiring overseas agencies that will offer some 1,100 jobs.


Local job offers include customer service, field sales agents, financial advisors, marketing officers, service crew, real estate salesperson, driver, accounting staff, laborer, cashier, teller, collector, construction worker, among others.


Overseas work offers include 200 nurses in the United Kingdom and Qatar, 100 cleaners in Dubai, and 120 farmers in Japan.


Also, various departments of the provincial government and 11 participating national agencies will offer their services  in the one-stop-shop at the jobs fair site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.


The national government agencies are Philippine Statistics Authority, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Pag-IBIG Fund, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Department of Trade and Industry, Professional Regulation Commission, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Government Service Insurance System, Social Security System, and Department of Migrant Workers.


This mega job fair, which is aimed to be conducted four times a year, is part of the provincial government's recovery efforts and to provide premium employment opportunities to its local constituents.
