NV jeepney drivers get livelihood kits from DOLE, LTFRB, OTC

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - At leas 21 jeepney drivers and operators here have received assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and Office of Transport Cooperatives (OTC).

The jeepney drivers and operators received their assistance at the Aritao Central Terminal through the  EnTSUPERneur Project , a convergence initiative of the concerned agencies.

The EnTSUPERneur Project aims to help displaced jeepney drivers and operators due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic and the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUV-MP).

The jeepney drivers/operators received their livelihood starter kits of choice such as tools and supplies for  carwash services, rice retailing, dressmaking/tailoring, sari-sari store, carpentry services, auto mechanic, vulcanizing services, welding services, baking and food vending worth P30,000 each.

The DOLE also conducted a Business and Work Improvement Course (BWIC)  to assist the beneficiaries on proper management of their business or livelihood project, particularly  on Entrepreneurship, Productivity, 5S, Simple Bookkeeping and Workshop and Occupational Safety and Health.

The distribution of the livelihood kits was led by DOLE Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (NVFO) Chief Elizabeth Martinez, Mayor Remelina Peros-Galam, LTFRB and OTC representatives, among others. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
