20 FCA members undergo 3-day training on establishment, management, accreditation of nurseries

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - At least 20 Farmers Cooperative and Associations (FCAs) from the municipalities of Isabela and Nueva Vizcaya have undergone a three-day training on establishment, management, and accreditation of crop nurseries.

The said training was recently conducted by the Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) at Barangay Malasin, San Mateo, Isabela.

The DA-ATI's Training Specialist, Maureann Turingan, said that most of the trainees, who attended were farmers who have existing backyard nurseries and want to apply for accreditation from Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) where a Certificate of Training of owners is required for accreditation.

Turingan said the DA-ATI 2 will continue to assist the FCAs who have undergone the training in order that they will be accredited as nursery owners.

Meanwhile, Michael Calimag, one of the trainees, expressed thanks to DA-ATI 2 for accommodating their requests to conduct the said trainingwhile  expecting that soon, the BPI will issue them the accreditation upon completion of the needed requirements. (MGE / PIA Isabela)
