Andrews Ave closed to traffic March 24-Nov 25

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Department of Public Works and Highways – South Manila District Engineering Office (SMDEO) will close both ends of the Andrews Avenue at Newport 10th Street, and the Pasay Baclaran boundary from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting March 24, 2023 to November 25, 2023 to pave way for the improvement of the road’s drainage system.

According to Regional Director Loreta M. Malaluan, South Manila District Engineer Mikunug D. Macud, the project will help improve the drainage system along Andrews Avenue, Aurora Boulevard, and Pasay Baclaran boundary, as box culvert will be simultaneously constructed in 50-meter sections of both ends.

In order to lessen the impact of the construction works to traffic in the area, the DPWH-SMDEO will be operating in the allotted window time only in coordination with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.

As moderate to heavy traffic is expected during the construction period, the DPWH-NCR advises the public that light vehicles coming from EDSA and heading to Andrews Avenue may access Don Carlos Revilla Street, then to Sampaguita Street, followed by BAC III Dr. Street.

On the other hand, light vehicles coming from Andrews Avenue heading to EDSA may take St. Peter Street, then head towards Clemente Jose St; while vehicles coming from other directions are advised to access other alternate routes. (DPWH/PIA-NCR)
