MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)--In support of the whole-of-nation approach to ending local communist armed conflict, the Anlag-Ani Tapukanan Consumers Cooperative held a community-based training (CBT) in partnership with Minergy Power Corporation and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Training Center-Tagoloan for 10 female former rebels (FRs) at the Anlag-Ani Tapukanan arcade in Claveria.
The "Taro" chips and "Binangkal" making training aim to provide valuable skills for the FRs so they can be self-sufficient and accelerate their reintegration into mainstream society.
Held in conjunction with the denunciation of 54 years of lies and deceit by the CPP-NPA-NDF, the training provided an opportunity to showcase various programs and services provided by the government to former rebels who voluntarily surrendered to the folds of the law.
TESDA-10 Noreen Concolacion shared that the training also serves as an opportunity to underscore the importance of cooperation and progress for the community, especially in supporting and empowering disadvantaged groups. (VPSB/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
