Number of people with COVID-19 in NCR up 10.6% -OCTA

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The number of people with COVID-19 has increased in Metro Manila, based on a report by the OCTA Research group since April 23 this year.

In the report of OCTA Research fellow Guido David, from 7.3 percent of the positivity rate of the virus on April 16 in Metro Manila, it hit 10.6 percent until this April 23.

The positivity rate is the number of people who test positive for COVID-19 after being tested for the virus.

According to David, in NCR there are an average of 3,120 COVID-19 tests a day, which is lower than the 11,000 tests per day in April 2022.

However, David said that hospital occupancy for COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila remains low at 21 percent.

According to the report of the Department of Health (DOH), there were 429 new cases of COVID-19 in the country on Monday and 180 cases were from Metro Manila. (PIA-NCR)
