DOLE gives aid to 191 Novo Vizcayanos

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - -  The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has distributed Kabuhayan Starter Kits to 191 Novo Vizcayanos.

DOLE Provincial Chief Elizabeth Martinez said the Kabuhayan Starter Kits worth P4.3 million were given to skilled workers and parents of child laborers in five towns of the province.

She said the Kabuhayan Starter Kits will support the beneficiaries’ individual projects on carpentry, welding, dress making/tailoring, food vending, automotive services, baking, electronic repair services, hair dressing, massage services, sari-sari store, sari-sari store with bigasan, snack vending, street food vending, rice retailing, plumbing services, kakanin vending, food processing, meat processing, auto-mechanic services, electrical services, masonry, vulcanizing, manicure, pedicure, hair color and rebond services, snack and frozen vending, and gardening.

The recipient towns with their respective worth of Kabuhayan Starter Kits were the LGU of Ambaguio with a check worth P880,205 P650,000;  LGU Bayombong with P473,666;  LGU Aritao with P620,000; LGU Dupax Del Sur with P400,000, and P592,083 and P750,000 for LGU Diadi.

The DOLE’s Kabuhayan program reduces the poor sectors’ vulnerability to risks and marginalized workers by providing them access to a grant fund assistance for capacity-building on livelihood ventures either for individual or group undertakings. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
