ILOILO CITY (PIA) - - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Iloilo has already started the 2022 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) operation in the city and province of Iloilo.

Hired and trained personnel were deployed on April 17, 2023 to conduct the survey involving a total of 812 establishments which are included in the list of samples of PSA Iloilo.

PSA Iloilo OIC-PSO Jerry Dolutan is encouraging the establishments and enterprises to cooperate for the smooth sailing field operation which is expected to be finished on July 31 this year.

The ASPBI aims to collect and generate information on the levels, structure, performance and trends of economic activities of the formal sector of the economy in 2022. 

Data that will be collected from the survey will serve as bases from which the government and the private sector

formulate policies and economic development plans, and will be used specifically in constructing national and regional income accounts of the Philippine economy and in formulating and monitoring plans/policies in the attainment of national and regional economic goals.

The data will also be used in determining and comparing regional economic structures and performances; analyzing economic performance of MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises); conducting market research and feasibility studies; and updating the sampling frame for establishment-based surveys.
