Serbisyo Caravan benefits over 1,000 residents in Llorente

BORONGAN CITY, (PIA) -- The provincial government of Eastern Samar led by Gov. Ben P. Evardone conducted on April 20 the Serbisyo Caravan in four far-flung and upstream barangays of Llorente, Eastern Samar, particuarly barangays Magtino, Candoros, Barobo, and Waso.

The nearby barangays of Burak, Catomco, Can-ato, Maca-anga, and Antipolo also benefitted the said Serbisyo Caravan.

More than 1,000 residents of the said barangays availed of the services offered by the participating national agencies and provincial offices.

In his message, Governor Evardone emphasized the importance of the Serbisyo Caravan.

"This Caravan aims at bringing government services closer to the people," he said, urging the residents not to hesitate in availing all services.

"We are here now to cater to all your needs, all you have to do is to grab this opportunity, this is for you," Gov. Evardone added.

During a sort programs, representatives from national agencies and provincial offices informed the residents about the programs and projects of their respective offices followed by the distribution of hygiene and medical kits to 1,276 households from the nine barangays courtesy of the Office of the Governor.

The barangay tanods also received uniform T-shirts. 

Meanwhile, the residents also availed of free consultation and medical services with free medicines, dental services, haircut, circumcision for children, and free seeds.

One of the beneficiaries of the Serbisyo Caravan, Helen Hugo, 62, from Brgy. Magtino said she felt happy and thankful that the provincial government brought their services to the barangay. Hugo availed the free medical services, free seeds, and free legal advice.

The Serbisyo Caravan in Llorente is the second this year. In March, the Serbisyo Caravan was held and conducted in Homonhon Island, at least 3-hour travel by boat from the mainland of Guiuan, E. Samar.

The Serbisyo Caravan is an initiative of the Governor together with the national government agencies to bring the services of the government to communities, and far-flung areas. (MMP/SDC/PIA E. Samar).
