CITY OF MATI, Davao Oriental (PIA) - - Considered as a first in the province of Davao Oriental, the municipal government of Baganga will organize a triathlon dubbed as 1st Mayor Ronald Lara Baganga Triathlon on June 4, 2023 in Barangay Lambajon of this town.

According to the event’s poster, the triathlon will have categories for different age groups for both male and female, and relay categories for male, female, and mixed gender.

Said categories will traverse the standard course of 1.5-kilometer swim, 40-kilometer bike, and 10-kilometer run.

The triathlon also offers categories for sprint, which will include 750-kilometer swim, 20-kilometer bike, and 5-kilometer run.

Per Municipal Information Office, a total of 90 participants have registered as of May 22, which includes among others, foreigners who join in the triathlon event.

Meanwhile, the organizers are still accepting registrants until June 28,

Around 150 to 200 triathlon enthusiasts from all over the country and even overseas.

For this event, the registration fees are pegged at P2,500 to P6,500 depending on the category, which will covers among others, the participants’ shirt, finisher medal, bag, race bib, stickers, hydration, and post-race meal.

Winners of the sporting event will bring home trophies and cash prizes ranging from P2,500 to P10,000.
