ISU Cauayan supports DTI’s Buy Local advocacy campaign

CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela (PIA) - -  The Isabela State University (ISU) - Cauayan City campus has expressed its support on the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Buy Local advocacy campaign.

The expression of support of ISU was stated under the Office Order of ISU Cauayan Campus Executive Officer Dr. Precila Delima after several meetings was held between her and DTI Isabela officials.

Under the ISU - Campus Office Order, the ISU Cauayan is required to allocate a minimum of 10% of the total procurement value of goods and services for the campus.

DTI Isabela Provincial Director Ma. Sofia Narag said the move of ISU Cauayan Campus in the procurement of goods and services from local sources will help the micro, small and medium entrepreneurs in the province.

Narag said that the involvement of ISU-Cauayan in the Buy Local Advocacy marks a major milestone for the DTI's campaign, as it strives to engage more institutions in bolstering Isabela's MSME sector.

“By enlisting the support of educational institutions like ISU-Cauayan, the DTI aims to enhance the local supply chain, promote entrepreneurship, and create a thriving business ecosystem in the province,” Narag said.

She said the decision of ISU-Cauayan to actively participate in the Buy Local Advocacy underscores the university's commitment to community development and economic progress through the procurement of locally produced goods and services as she is optimistic that other educational institutions in the province will also do the same in support to the agency’s advocacy.
