DAVAO CITY (PIA) -- The Provincial Science and Technology Office in Davao Occidental has recently turned over various equipment to several people’s organizations in the province through the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) intervention of DOST-XI.

The Datu Danwata Women’s Association (DDWA) and Solidarity Farmers Association (SOFA) received stainless steel table, coffee pulper, coffee huller, and some heavy-duty grinders which would be of great use for their coffee processing production.

Members of the Rural Improvement Club of Malita (RIC-Malita) also received one unit of a juice squeezer machine and grinding machine for their turmeric tea processing intervention.

The Demolok Valley National High School Community Association (DVNHSCA) was provided with one unit of heavy-duty grinder and stainless chocolate molder for their Cacao Processing.

The series of turnover activities aims at building progressive, empowered, and resilient rural communities through Science and Technology interventions in health and nutrition, water and sanitation, basic education and literacy, livelihood and economic enterprise development, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation.
