PGOM and FCS sign MOA to ensure flood safety

CITY OF CALAPAN, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – Some municipalities in Oriental Mindoro are known to be flood-prone areas, therefore part of the current administration’s mandate is to ensure that widespread flooding in the province are avoided, especially now that the country is entering the rainy season.

In relation to this, the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro signed a Memorandum of Agreement between the Firehouse Construction Services (FCS), a company that will be in charge in fixing silted rivers and flood-prone areas in the province.

The company will bring machineries, oil, gasoline, and manpower that will be used to excavate and deepen silted rivers that cause widespread flooding especially in the second district.

Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito Dolor signs the Memorandum of Agreement with Firehouse Construction Services, the company that will conduct declogging of rivers and drainages to prevent flooding in the 2nd district of province. According to Reyes, it would take two or more months to complete the excavation process that will re-arrange the silted rivers, ensuring the safety of the residents from the 2nd district from the threats of flooding.

The MOA signing was witnessed by Provincial Engineer Edylou Tejido, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Earl Ligorio Turano, PG-ENRO Maximino Jumig Jr., and Civil Security Unit Head Bob Perez. (JJGS/PIAMimaropa-Ormin)
