DTI Cavite partners with e-commerce platform to support Cavite MSMEs

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite (PIA) — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has partnered with an online shopping e-commerce platform to help local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Cavite market their products online.

To kickstart their partnership, the DTI Cavite initiated an orientation for 35 MSMEs recently to introduce how the SOMAGO e-commerce portal could help their business thrive.

DTI-Cavite Provincial Director Revelyn Cortez welcomed the partnership noting that this would allow entrepreneurs in the province to expand their businesses and reach more consumers.

She added that the collaboration would also help promote local products and strengthen the digitalization of the “One Town, One Product” (OTOP) by onboarding MSME owners to have their e-retail stores.

With the collaboration, SOMAGO would assist the DTI in upskilling entrepreneurs to market and sell their products across the country and globally.

At least 10 small business owners who joined the orientation were successfully onboarded through the e-commerce platform and now enjoying its full benefits.

DTI-Cavite said MSMEs may coordinate with their office for the process of onboarding with the SOMAGO online channel. (RBF)
