TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - As the province celebrates its 440th founding anniversary or the Aggao na Cagayan, a management booth will be established highlighting what Calayan Island has to offer.
Seen to be the next adventure site in Cagayan, Tourism head Jennifer Junio-Baquiran said that Calayan's tourism promotion is one of the priorities of the province.
"We have already conducted many pieces of training related to tourism in Calayan as our next flagship destination," Baquiran said.
She also said there have been many investors who want to explore Cagayan and other towns.

Last month, 30 tour guides finished the seven-day Community Guides Training in Calayan where Filipino Brand of Service Excellence is integrated in the course.
Earlier, the provincial government an the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Region 2 has trained residents on handicrafts and souvenir-making in preparation for the arrival of tourists in the days to come.
Homestay owners and operators likewise attended training last April 2023 for a systematic and orderly management of their homestay through the Department of Tourism - Region 2.

Calayan is now accessible via plane through Sky Pasada every Tuesday and Friday and passenger vessels namely MB Eagle Ferry, MB Ocean Crown, and MB Rosario.
Calayan Island is home to the white sand beach Sibang Cove, Nagudungan Hills, Lusok Cave, Nagudungan Lighthouse, Malangsi Falls and more. (OTB/GVB PIA region 2)
