Didipio Mine bares ongoing community development projects in Quirino

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - The Didipio Mine recently announced its ongoing community development projects, which were implemented in the different host communities in the province.

Recently, the ground-breaking of two farm-to-market road (FMR) projects under the Didipio Mine Community Development Fund (CDF) were held in Barangay Victoria, Aglipay for the construction of a 6.10m-wide FMR at Purok 7, and San Manuel, Aglipay for the construction of a 6.10m0wide FMR from Purok 6 to Purok 4.

In its Facebook Page, Didipio Mine said that the projects aim to enhance connectivity, provide community spaces, and improve infrastructure for the benefit of our local communities.

“These initiatives were made possible through the Didipio Mine's Community Development Fund (CDF) in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Aglipay and Provincial Local Government of Quirino and the respective Barangays,” the Didipio Mine stated.

Furthermore, on May 17, 2023, the ground-breaking activity was held for the concreting of approximately ₱3M-worth FMR project in Purok 2 of barangay Don Mariano Perez in Diffun town.

On the same day, the ground-breaking activity was likewise held for the 230-meter FMR project in Brgy. Villa Peña in Cabarroguis town.

Both activities were graced by Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua, DENR Mines and Geosciences Bureau R0II Regional Director Mario Ancheta, Diffun Mayor Mayo Garnace Calaunan, Don Mariano Perez Captain Joseph Wakat, Villa Pena Brgy. Captain Romeo Honrada and Cabarroguis Municipal Councilor Virgilio Lopez.

Meanwhile, the Didipio Mine also held the ground-breaking activity of the multipurpose hall, another project under its CDF at the Purok 2, San Benigno, Aglipay.

“The soon-to-rise multipurpose hall is one of the products of the strong collaboration of the Mine with its neighboring local government units,” the mining firm stated.

Aglipay Mayor Jerry Agsalda, San Benigno Brgy. Captain Diosdado Dulnuan and Didipio Mine External Affairs and Social Performance Superintendent Desiree Baldevino were present during the activity. (TCB/with reports from Didipio Mine/PIA Quirino)
