Citing the updated NHTS-PR survey results, a total of 333,513 households in Davao Region are identified as poor.

Regional results of the Listahanan 3  as of July 2022 showed that the number of poor households in the region represents 36.92 percent of the 903,267 households who were assessed, DSWD-XI Listahanan Information Technology Officer Peter Paul C. Villaluna reported during the Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City Davao on Sept. 11.

The highest number of poor households is found in the province of Davao Occidental at 58.44%, followed by Davao Oriental at 55.96%.

The third highest number of poor households is logged in Davao de Oro at 43.05%, Davao del Sur  at 30.37%, Davao del Norte at 29.79%, and Davao City at 23.26%.

Villaluna said that the survey results also noted that among the total poor households, 100,746 (30.20%) or three out of 10 have no access to electricity.

He said117,061 poor households (54.08%) have no clean and safe water, while 33,422 (10.02%) or one out of 10 still do not have access to clean and sanitary toilet facilities.

There are also 143,215 (42.94%) or four out of 10 poor households belong to the indigenous peoples.

Of the 1,743,881 poor individuals assessed, 52.17% or 909,725 are males and 47.83% or 834,156 are females, he said.

According to DSWD-XI, the NHTS-PR or Listahanan is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor household nationwide, which makes available to the national government agencies and other social protection stakeholders a database of poor households as basis in identifying potential beneficiaries of their social protection programs and services.

He encouraged the stakeholders to use the data for identifying potential beneficiaries and the appropriate programs and services to be offered.

“To obtain the Listahanan, just send us a request letter addressed to our regional director Atty. Vanessa B. Goc-ong, then we will provide the data,” he said.

He clarified, however, that personal information and sensitive personal information will be subject to Republic Act No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012, “so we will use the data sharing agreement or MOA.” (ITL/CLC, PIA-XI)
