CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) -- Officials from the town of Quirino, Isabela, led by Mayor Edward Juan, recently received 3 units of patrol vehicles and 2 units of ambulances to be used by LGU Quirino.

The funds for the purchase of the said vehicles came from the award, as the town is one of the recipients of the 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance—Incentive Fund (SGLG-IF) and from the Local Government Support Fund—Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), where the LGU received P5 million in each of the award categories.

Quirino Mayor Edward Juan said the vehicles will be used to enhance accessibility to the remote and far-flung schools and barangays, increase visibility in the community, and help in addressing urgent matters in the municipality.

Mayor Juan expressed her thanks to the DILG for the support extended in complying with the numerous requirements in passing the SGLG, which resulted in getting the cash award and using it for the purchase of vehicles to be used by the locality that will serve the residents.

Meanwhile, DILG Region 2 Director Agnes De Leon urged the local officials of Quirino, during the turnover and blessing of the vehicles, to continue delivering timely services to their constituents using the important assets acquired by the LGU.

"May these vehicles serve as an additional fleet of the LGU in delivering health services and in the maintenance of peace and order in this town," De Leon said.

Present during the turnover of the vehicles were DILG Provincial Director Engr. Corazon Toribio, DILG Isabela Cluster 3 Head Marietta F. Abaluz, Quirino MLGOO Tolomeo Talosig, Vice Mayor Victor Emmanuel Callangan and police personnel. (MDCT/MGE/PIA Isabela)
