IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) – The provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay and Cebu have made history by formalizing a sisterhood agreement, pledging their joint efforts in fostering collaboration and exchange of ideas and best practices.

Zamboanga Sibugay seeks inspiration from Cebu Province’s success, aspiring to become a thriving and vibrant province by learning from its rich history and progress.

This partnership, covering various areas like commerce, industry, governance, and especially tourism, marks a significant milestone for Zamboanga Sibugay as it enters its first sisterhood agreement after 22 years.

As a goodwill gesture, the Cebu Province pledged to construct a tourist rest area in Zamboanga Sibugay, with the exact location to be determined later.

Governor Hofer expressed her enthusiasm for the agreement, highlighting its significance in opening up opportunities for mutual learning and growth. She extended her sincere gratitude to Governor Garcia and the Cebu provincial officials for embracing this partnership.

“The significance of the sisterhood cannot be overstated. It will open up a world of opportunities for us to learn from one another,” Governor Ann said.

Governor Garcia commended Zamboanga Sibugay for its promising economic potential, underscoring the friendship and camaraderie she shares with Gov. Hofer. Their previous collaboration during the 16th and 17th Congresses, combined with their shared achievement as the first female governors in their respective provinces, solidified their close relationship.

The collaboration between Zamboanga Sibugay and Cebu Province goes beyond being a mere partnership; it is an opportunity to learn from each other, grow together, and succeed together. It shows how working together can help both provinces become more prosperous and developed. (KSA/RBI/PIA9-Zamboanga Sibugay)
