NGCP continues repair of transmission lines in typhoon-hit areas

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has reported updates in its restoration operations on transmission service for electricity in areas which were damaged by Super Typhoon Pepito (Man-yi).

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has earlier called on the NGCP as well as on Distribution Utilities (Dus) and Electric Cooperatives (ECs) in areas affected by the typhoon to fast-track the restoration of transmission service and electricity.

According to the NGCP, the following transmission services have been restored on Nov. 18:

In Benguet:
-Itogon-Ampucao transmission
Customer affected: BENECO

In Nueva Ecija:
-Affected: NEECO II Area 1 and Area 2

In Baguio city and Benguet:
Affected: BENECO (Itogon Totalizer)

In Nueva Vizcaya:
-Bayombong – Villaverde line segment
Affected: NUVELCO.

The NGCP also reported the restoration of transmission in the following areas on Nov. 17:

-Santiago-Cauayan 69kV Line
Customer affected: ISELCO I

-Maguindanao del Norte and Maguindanao del Sur provinces transmission
Affected: MAGELCO’s Capiton Substations, CLPC (whole coverage area)

-Parts of Zamboanga City
-Pitogo-San Jose Gusu, Pitogo-Tulungatung and Pitogo-Tumaga 69kV lines
Affected: ZAMCELCO

-Parts of Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur and Cotabato Provinces including the Special Geographic Areas of BARMM
Affected: MAGELCO’s Simuay Substation, COTELCO-PPALMA, Lamsan Power Corporation

-Parts of Nueva Ecija
Affected: NEECO II Area 1 and Area 2

-Parts of Isabela
Affected: Parts of ISELCO 1

-MORE (Diversion, Megaworld & Molo Substations) GBP MGEN (PPC 1 & Banuyao) and ILECO 1 (Pavia Substation)

The NGCP said inspection and restoration of lines in affected areas will be in full swing as soon as the weather allows.

It ensured that simultaneous restoration activities are being conducted in areas that are already accessible.
