TADIAN, MT. PROVINCE ─ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) led by its Chairman Regalado Trota Jose, Jr., will unveil the historical markers, “Kayan” and “Tadian” on 3 May 2025 at 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively. The markers state:

SA BAYANG ITO NG TADIAN, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE, DUMAAN SI EMILIO AGUINALDO, PANGULO NG UNANG REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS, AT ANG KANIYANG HUKBO HABANG IPINAGTATANGGOL ANG KALAYAAN AT PAGKABANSA NG MGA PILIPINO, 2 DISYEMBRE 1899.
ANG PANANDANG PANGKASAYSAYANG ITO AY PINASINAYAAN BILANG AMBAG SA PAGGUNITA SA IKA-125 ANIBERSARYO NG KALAYAAN AT PAGKABANSANG PILIPINO, 12 HUNYO 2023 – 23 MAROS 2026.
NHCP Chair Jose will present the historical marker after which a signing of the certificate of transfer with the local government of Tadian will follow.
This unveiling activity is one of the series of marker unveilings in the province of Mt. Province that NHCP will spearhead in line with the 125th anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
