ISLAMIC CITY OF MARAWI ─ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) led by its Chairman Regalado Trota Jose, Jr., unveiled the historical markers, “Pagtatanggol sa Marawi,” “Labanan sa Marawi,” “Amai Pakpak,” and “Kota Marawi” last 18 August, 8:00 a.m. The markers state:




NHCP Chairman Jose presented the historical marker while Marawi City Mayor Atty. Majul U. Gandamra delivered his acceptance message after signing the certificate of transfer. Witnesses to the signing were NHCP Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo, and Bangsamoro Commission for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage Chairperson Salem Y. Lingasa, Ph.D.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures. (NHCP)
