NIA chief benchmarks in NBICC for Irrigation Boost

DALWANGAN, Malaybalay City–National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Acting Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen led the ceremonial planting of coffee in Nestlé Bukidnon Integrated Coffee Center (NBICC), Northern Mindanao Agricultural Crops and Livestock Research Complex (NMACLRC) at Dalwangan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

This visit will serve as a venue for widening the agricultural potentials of fruit-bearing trees such as coffee and cacao to promote sustainable farming to augment the income of our rice farmers.

In his message, the administrator noted that this event is significant as it shows that there are other private sectors who are expressing their utmost support to the National Irrigation Administration and its farmer-beneficiaries.

“This event is significant as it shows that there are other private sectors who are expressing their utmost support to NIA and its farmer-beneficiaries and I would like to appreciate the Nestle Philippines, dahil sa paglalaan nila ng efforts na gumawa ng mga plataporma upang matulungan ang ating mga magsasaka para ma-ensure ang sustainable supply ng coffee beans upang mapataas ang income ng ating coffee farmers.” administrator added.

Along with the administrator were Nestlé Philippines Head of Corporate Affairs Jose Uy III, Head of Government and Industry Affairs Atty. Deegee Uy, Nestlé Agriservices Head Art Baria, GIA Executive Donna Tiedra, NIA OIC DAEO Engr. Josephine B. Salazar, and Senior Deputy Administrator Engr. Robert C. Suguitan and the Association of Regional Directors and Operations Managers of the Philippines (ARDOMA/PIA 10/Bukidnon).
