Nine associations in Sibugay town receive livelihood capital

ROSELLER T. LIM, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) – Nine associations of the municipality have received funds under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) of the province.

This funding is intended to enable the beneficiary groups to establish and expand income-generating projects that support community development and foster self-reliance.

Agnes Salamero, president of the Roseller T. Lim-SLP Association, conveyed her appreciation for the government’s commitment to support and strengthen community livelihoods.

“We are deeply grateful for the capital provided to us for our hog-raising project, and we are committed to making this initiative a success,” Salamero said.

Dearshon Madelo, the provincial coordinator of the SLP in Zamboanga Sibugay, emphasized the significance of these funds in helping associations create sustainable livelihood ventures.

“Make use of this fund wisely to ensure the success of your projects. This support is an opportunity to uplift your communities and achieve long-term growth,” he said.

The municipal government of RT Lim also encouraged the associations to make the most of this support to achieve long-term success and improve their economic standing.

DSWD’s SLP is a community-based program that aims to improve the socio-economic conditions in vulnerable communities by providing funding and training for sustainable livelihood projects.
