Toll relief to NLEX motorists during repair of Marilao Bridge

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced temporary toll relief for motorists on NLEX Northbound from Balintawak to Meycauayan.

This announcement follows NLEX Corporation’s response to DOTr’s request to waive toll collection for motorists traveling through Balintawak-Meycauayan while repairs on the Marilao bridge are ongoing.

In response to the call of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), NLEX Corporation will implement temporary toll relief on the northbound portion of the expressway from Balintawak to Meycauayan starting March 24, 2025 at 12 noon. This will remain in effect until all four lanes of the Marilao northbound area are reopened,” the statement reads.

The DOTr thanked the NLEX Corporation for responding to its request to waive toll collection following the severe damage caused by a truck violating regulations.

The DOTr emphasized that the swift collaboration between the government and the private sector demonstrates a commitment to assisting commuters, as this immediate solution will alleviate the burden on affected motorists and passengers while we strive to reopen all impacted lanes as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon earlier stated that the repair work for the bridge should be completed in less than two weeks.  (JEG/PIA-NCR)
