TACLOBAN CITY (PIA) – The National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP) is elevating its service standards with the recent training of its frontline services with the Department of Tourism-initiated Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE).
The FBSE program is aimed to elevate the service standards of tourism-related establishments and professionals, aligning them with the renowned Filipino hospitality. The program focuses on providing exceptional service, emphasizing warmth, respect, and attention to detail, which are integral elements of Filipino culture.
NMP Executive Director Victor A. Del Rosario is confident their key personnel and frontline service providers acquired the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality service, communication skills, cultural sensitivity and championing Filipino hospitality during the FBSE Training.
NMP provides external services to clients such as Registration and Certification, Domiciliary, and Library Services which are continually being improved and strengthened in accordance with Republic Act 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery (EODB) Act of 2018.
Topics for the FBSE training include customer service excellence, understanding and engaging customers, surpassing guests’ expectations, and proper handling of complaints.
Launched in 2023, the FBSE program has played a significant role in improving the country’s tourism industry by ensuring that the people who interact with international and local guests are well-trained and motivated to offer exceptional service. It not only promotes national pride but also helps make the Philippines a globally competitive tourism destination.
In essence, the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence by the Department of Tourism serves as a hallmark of the country’s renowned hospitality, ensuring that each visitor experiences the warmth and care that the Philippines is known for.
