CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — The National Nutrition Council (NNC) MIMAROPA launched the 50th Nutrition Month on July 2 at the Bulwagang Panlalawigan ng Oriental Mindoro, Calapan City.
The launching was participated in by different regional line agencies, officers of regional federations, members of Scaling Up Nutrition Movement, members of MIMAROPA Nutrition Communicators, Inc., Provincial Nutrition Committee members of Oriental Mindoro, including their partners such as the Oriental Mindoro Medical Society and Rotary Club of Calapan, municipalities of the province, Calapan City Nutrition Committee and all its barangays.
The celebration began with a nutri-parade showcasing colorful floats and creative nutri-hats of the participants.
In a press release, NNC shared that different regional line agencies, namely the Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Reform, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, National Food Authority, Department of Science and Technology, Commission on Population and Development, and the Provincial Health Office of Oriental Mindoro, showcased the services they offered through a one-stop-shop set-up.

Nutrition Program Coordinator Ma. Eileen B. Blanco emphasized how nutrition should be celebrated every day and encouraged everyone to continuously promote healthier lifestyles to our communities.
Blanco led the unveiling of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2023-2028 and Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition (RPAN) 2024-2028, along with key officials of the local government units and representatives of agencies and regional federations and partners.
Messages of support to PPAN implementation were also delivered by local chief executives, regional directors, regional scaling-up nutrition (SUN) network convenors, and federation presidents. They marked their support to PPAN by signing the nutrition month pledge streamer.
A panel discussion for PPAN and RPAN were also conducted to present the agencies’ respective programs and projects which could help improve the nutrition situation of the region. Panelists from LGU shared their strategies for nutrition program implementation and best practices to achieve the PPAN and RPAN objectives. (AS/PIA MIMAROPA)
