CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) — The Regional Development Council of Northern Mindanao (RDC-X) continues to advance evidence-based decision and policy-making through Research and Development (R&D).
Convening both public and private stakeholders, the RDC-X hosted an R&D Utilization Forum on 10 December 2024 at the Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, this city.
With the theme Promoting Design and Futures Thinking Toward Innovative and Inclusive Policies, the forum discussed policy recommendations and actions from studies along demographics, social welfare, agriculture, and infrastructure development.
“In an ever-changing world where challenges grow increasingly complex, the need for accurate, data-driven decisions has never been more critical. R&D provides us with the insights and knowledge necessary to navigate uncertainties, address emerging issues, and craft solutions that are responsive to the needs of our communities,” said Raymundo G. Talimio, RDC-X Economic Development Committee Co-Chair and Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. Chair.
Mylah Faye Aurora B. Cariño, NEDA-X Regional Director, concurrently the RDC-X Vice Chair, presented the Northern Mindanao Regional Development Policy Research Agenda 2023-2028, which contains R&D priority areas that promote regional growth.
She also stressed that progress can only be achieved through a solid foundation of empirical evidence.
The RDPRA complements the Northern Mindanao Development Plan 2023-2028. Both are slated for updating in 2025. (NEDA-X/PIA-10
