NorMin stakeholders sharpen proposal writing skills in RRDIC-led writeshop

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) — Research and development staff from state universities and colleges, local government units, and select member government agencies of the Regional Development Council Northern Mindanao Regional Research, Development, and Innovation Committee (RDC-10 RRDIC) gathered for a two-day writing workshop to prepare for the FY 2024 Innovation Fund Call for Proposals.

The event, held on 3-4 September 2024 at the N Hotel, this city, aimed to enhance participants’ skills in crafting high-quality research and innovation grant proposals.

The Innovation Fund intends to support the formulation of innovative solutions benefiting marginalized communities in the country. It is managed by the NEDA as the Secretariat of the National Innovation Council.

Resource speakers Florante D. Galura, Jr. of the NEDA Innovation Staff, Queritess Q. Queja of the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Jinky B. Bornales from Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, provided valuable technical guidance throughout the sessions.

Pioneered by Region 10, the said writeshop is a strategic effort to bolster Northern Mindanao’s prospects of securing funding for innovative projects, fostering growth and development across various sectors.

Participants applied their learnings by ideating technologies and innovations and simulating grant application forms. The activity underscores the region’s dedication to driving economic progress through impactful innovation. (NEDA-10/PIA-10)
