CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) — The Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) of the Regional Development Council (RDC)-X, in partnership with the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)-X, organized an outreach program in celebration of the 2025 National Women’s Month.
The event was aimed to support and empower young girls who have experienced abuse and hardship, providing them a space for healing, creativity, and self-expression.
The program included interactive activities such as a bracelet-making session, where the participants demonstrated their artistic skills. Dance performances showcased the girls’ talents, and the City Health Office offered free dental services.
Partner organizations such as the Commission on Higher Education, Department of Education, Department of Health Center for Health Development-Northern Mindanao, Land Transportation Office, Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), and the University of Science and Technology of the Philippines helped make the event possible.
“This year’s NWMC theme, Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas, highlights the important role of women in all sectors of society. We are proud to see women breaking barriers in professions, such as the maritime sector, that were once thought to be exclusively for men,” said MARINA-X Director Juliet S. Nacion.
Through programs like this, the RDC-X RGADC and its partners continue to champion gender equality and women’s empowerment, creating a more inclusive future for young girls and the entire community. (NEDA-X/PIA-10)
