
QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The man’s ‘best friend’ will take centerstage in this month’s ‘Parkonversations’ of the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC).
In celebration of International Dog Day and History Month, the NPDC will unravel the story behind the mysterious dog at Rizal’s execution and discover more stories about dogs, from the early encounters of the Filipino people with canines in Cagayan 4,000 years ago and other famous dog personalities.
This PARKonversations Live! session titled “The Dog That Witnessed Rizal’s Execution and Other Dogs in Philippine History” will take place at the Mabini Hall, Rizal Park Luneta on August 26, 2023 (Saturday), 9:30 a.m.
The author of the book “Dogs in Philippine History,” Ian Christopher B. Alfonso will be the guest speaker in the event.
Alfonso is the Supervising History Researcher and Officer-in-Charge of the Research, Publication, and Heraldry Division of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.
Participants who will join the seminar and answer the evaluation form will receive a certificate. (NPDC/PIA-NCR)
