NSC signs MOA with CIAP-PCAB to strengthen local construction industry

MAKATI CITY – The National Security Council Secretariat and the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines – Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (CIAP-PCAB) signed a memorandum of agreement establishing a coordination mechanism to strengthen the local construction industry. The NSC Secretariat was represented by Secretary Eduardo M. Año while the CIAP-PCAB was represented by Trade Secretary Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque.

“By working together, we ensure that infrastructure development not only fuels economic growth but also safeguards the welfare of every Filipino. In line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas agenda, this initiative embodies our collective vision for a modern, vibrant, and secure nation,” Secretary Roque underscored.

Dr. Pericles P. Dakay, PCAB Chairperson, said the agreement will help the Philippines’ construction industry pursue competitiveness by supporting domestic companies to thrive in an increasingly dynamic business environment.

Meanwhile, Secretary Año cited the NSC Secretariat’s significant role in contributing to economic security such as those stated in RA 11647 that called for a risk and threat review of some investments and business activities in certain economic sectors.
