Nueva Vizcaya creates task force ‘Serbisyo Karaban’

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – The Provincial Local Government Unit of Nueva Vizcaya established the Provincial Task Force ‘Serbisyo Karaban’ to bring government services closer to remote communities and maintain the province’s status as an insurgency-free province.

Governor Jose Gambito issued Executive Order No. 58, which establishes the PTF ‘Serbisyo Karaban’ to oversee and ensure the delivery of essential services and address various issues and concerns in barangays identified as Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs).

Through the Whole-of-Nation Approach, National Government Agencies, in partnership with concerned Local Government Units, will provide various programs and services in GIDAs related to the preservation and enrichment of culture, promotion of health and safety, enhancement of the right to a balanced ecology, economic prosperity and justice, employment opportunities, and maintenance of peace and order, among others.

“The ‘Serbisyo Karaban’ is created to roll out the needed programs and services for our villagers living in GIDAs. In this way, we can sustain our gains as an insurgency-free province by assisting our constituents in addressing their various needs and concerns within their communities,” said Provincial Warden Carmelo Andrada, chairperson of the PTF-Serbisyo Karaban.

Andrada noted that preparations are underway for the upcoming ‘Serbisyo Karaban’ event in the upland barangay of Abuyo in Alfonso Castaneda town, where most villagers are members of the ‘Bugkalot’ tribe.

The initiative will also target the upland barangays of Dulli, Camandag, Ammoeg, and Napo, along with neighboring communities in the upland town of Ambaguio, which is populated by Indigenous Peoples belonging to the ‘Kalanguya’ and ‘Ayangan’ tribes.

“Our target implementation for program is set for before the end of this year, pending approval from the Provincial Peace and Order, Anti-Illegal Drugs, and PTF-End Local Communist Armed Conflict during a meeting,” he said. (BME/PIA NVizcaya)
