BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – The provincial local government of Nueva Vizcaya, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is set to host the province’s first-ever coffee festival to promote the thriving coffee industry in the region.
DTI acting provincial director Ramil Garcia announced that the festival will be held in May as part of the 16th Annual Grand ‘Ammungan’ (Gathering).
The event, he said, will showcase a wide variety of locally grown coffee products from the province’s upland municipalities.
Garcia also explained that it will feature a marketplace where local coffee products will be sold and workshops for coffee farmers and shop owners to provide valuable insights into the art and business of coffee production.
“The First Coffee Festival aims to highlight the growing coffee industry in Nueva Vizcaya and showcase the diverse flavors crafted by local coffee producers,” Garcia said.
With support from the national and local governments, Nueva Vizcaya has become a key coffee producer in the region, particularly in Ambaguio, Kasibu, Kayapa, Sta. Fe, and Alfonso Castañeda.
Garcia noted that these areas are known for their high-quality coffee, which has contributed to the growing popularity of coffee production and trade in the region.
He also pointed out the increasing number of local coffee shops, reflecting the community’s passion for coffee and its contribution to the province’s economy. (OTB/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
