BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya(PIA) – The Provincial Local Government Unit of Nueva Vizcaya has set aside P25 million to fund its employment program for Novo Vizcayanos this year.
Dubbed ‘Taripatu’, an Ilocano term which means care or nurture, provides villagers with jobs for 10 days with a daily wage of P500.
Dolly Rose Minas, PLGU-Public Employment Service Division chief, said the program targets villagers who have been displaced from their previous jobs and were not employed under the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers.
Recently, the office distributed almost P5 million for the wages/honoraria of 2,000 ‘Taripatu’ beneficiaries, representing the first batch of workers last year.
The workers came from Bambang, Aritao, Diadi, Solano, Bagabag, and Bayombong.
“Many of the beneficiaries worked in their respective barangays, responding to the requests of barangay leaders to assist in road cleanup following the onslaught of Typhoon Pepito,” Minas said.
She said the P25 million budget allocated for the ‘Taripatu’ this year will benefit 5,000 Novo Vizcayanos in the province.(BME/PIA Nueva Vizacaya)
