SAGADA, Mountain Province (PIA) — Youth representatives from the different municipalities and sectors in Mountain Province joined in an activity that seeks to promote the formulation and approval of local youth development plans (LYDPs) aligned with the Philippine Youth Development Plan (PYDP) 2023-2028.
Held on May 9 in Antadao, Sagada, the “NakakaLOCAL: Monitoring of LYDO(Local Youth Development Officers) and SK Training on PYDP-LYDP Alignment” featured lectures and a workshop.
It was designed to familiarize local youth development officers, Sangguniang Kabataan and agency representatives on the PYDP 2023-2028, and to orient local stakeholders on the PYDP and LYDP alignment.
Speakers from the National Youth Commission discussed the Philippine Youth Development Plan: Its Significance; Highlights of LYDP Process Assessment, and on local plan monitoring.
In a workshop, participants were asked to identify gaps, recommendations and commitments pertaining to the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of their respective LYDP.

Sheridan Athena Gajete, representative of NYC – Baguio City area office, expressed her gratitude to the various stakeholders especially the youth sector for participating in the activity.
She said the activity made them understood more what still can be done for the youth
“Madami tayung narealize, ano ba dapat nating baguhin as a team, anu ang mga partnerships na dapat nating gawin for the benefit of our young people,” Gajete said.
As a response to the activity, a representative from the participants rendered a song to express gratefulness to the NYC for conducting the activity. (JDP/VJLT-PIA Mt. Province)
