TUDELA, Misamis Occidental (PIA) — Gov. Henry S. Oaminal graced the 38th Annual General Membership Assembly of Misamis Occidental II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MOELCI-II) as a guest speaker at the MOELCI-II Multi-Purpose Gym.
The event, themed “MOELCI II: Yawe sa Kahayag ug Kalambuan,” had 5,421 member-consumer-owners (MCOs).
The governor shared exciting news for the MCOs of MOELCI-II, announcing that under new management and membership, the cooperative’s earnings have increased, potentially leading to reductions in electricity prices.
“We have a gross margin of profit in 2023 of P158.3 million compared to P68 million in 2022, despite operating expenses and administrative costs. The cooperative spent over P161 million, resulting in a deficit of only P2.7 million for 2023, compared to P43 million in 2022,” he said.

Oaminal commended MOELCI-II’s management and Board of Directors for their significant achievements in 2023. He acknowledged their efforts to advance the cooperative’s goals and serve the community.
“I commend the management and directors for their leadership. Thank you for your service, honesty, and sincere efforts as partners in progress. The management of MOELCI-II has improved due to our new directors who are managing our cooperative,” Oaminal said.
The more than 5,000 consumers in attendance were overjoyed and pleasantly surprised by the governor’s announcement of P2,000 in cash assistance as social services from the provincial government.
This aid was secured through Oaminal’s initiative to obtain funds from the national government, under the leadership of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., with the support of Speaker Martin Romualdez.
The assembly also honored the top 10 prompt payors for 2023 among large load consumers, which included: Third Millennium Oil Mills, Inc., Jimenez town; Mayor Hilarion A. Ramiro Sr. Medical Center in Ozamiz; Gaisano Ozamiz City; Novawood Forest Industries in Clarin; OZAMCO Manufacturing in Ozamiz; Taipan Development Corporation in Ozamiz City; ICC La Salle, Ozamiz City; Medina General Hospital, Ozamiz City; Tobias Feliciano Faith General Hospital, Inc., Ozamiz City; and Alaska Ice Plant & Oil Mill.
