According to DSWD Field Office 1 Regional Information Officer, Ms. Kristine Amoroso, the gift-giving activity in the towns of Agoo and Bauang benefitted around 35 Children In-Conflict with the Law (CICL) and 41 girls under the custody of the aforementioned centers.

The gifts provided to the beneficiaries include bags, towels, pillow, and blanket, essential needs for the beneficiaries as they continue to stay and rehabilitate in the aforementioned centers.

The HFW in Agoo town is a residential treatment facility housing for girls aged seven to 17 years old who have been taken custody by the state from their families due to exploitation or abuse.

The RRCY meanwhile is a treatment facility in a residential setting for CICL with suspended sentences, providing an out-of-home placement for rehabilitating children.

A similar gift-giving activity was also held at the Malacañang Palace ground on the same date as President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. underscored the importance of caring for and nurturing the nation’s next generation while also acknowledging the effort of social workers tending to the needs of the beneficiaries who were provided with assistance.
