CAMIGUIN (PIA) — A total of 117 new interns within the Government Internship Program (GIP) assigned to the provincial capitol underwent an orientation seminar before starting their 132 days of work on July 15.
From July 16 to January 23, 2025, those interns will provide services in the provincial government’s offices.
Gov. Xavier Jesus Romualdo reminded the interns that there is no such thing as a small job since everyone will have an impact on the office’s operation, and challenged them to practice hard work and attention to details in the workplace.
“Wala’y gamay na work para sa inyo dinhi. Kinahanglan jud ang diligence and attention to details sa inyong trabaho (There is no small work for you here. Diligence and attention to details in your work are essential),” Romualdo said.
Rep. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo also urged the new interns to show their best ability and effort, saying, “Mao na akong gusto diri sa Camiguin nga ang mga batan-on kahibalo muistorya ug mudiskarte kay pag-abot sa inyong panahon, dinha ninyo ma-realize unsa inyong natun-an, labi na sa panahon nga mawala na inyong mga ginikanan.”
(That’s why I want young people in Camiguin to be able to communicate and strategize, as it’s crucial for them to understand the lessons they’ve learned, particularly when their parents are no longer around.)
Together with the Department of Labor and Employment and support funds from Rep. Romualdo, the said program aims to help the youth, especially the fresh graduates, get practical experience in public service while also giving more strength to the provincial office. (PGO/PIA-10/Camiguin)
