CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — Forty former rebels (FRs) from the eight towns of Oriental Mindoro received financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA held at Tamaraw Hall, Provincial Capitol Complex here, May 8.
The awarding of government’s aid was led by Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor, together with the representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Oriental Mindoro, Philippine Army’s 4th Infantry (Scorpion Battalion), 76th Infantry Battalion and 203rd Infantry Brigade, and Oriental Mindoro Provincial Police Office (PPO).
The assistasnce was facilitated by the OrMin Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
Each rebel returnee received P5,000 worth of financial assistance under the agency’s community-based program.
Meanwhile, one returnee received livelihood assistance under the DILG’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) worth P65,000.
In his message, Gov. Dolor assured the FRs of his and the provincial government’s support to help in building a safer community.
