CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – The Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro initiated yesterday a motorcade as a kick off activity within this city in consonance with the celebration of National Marriage Week, starting February 7 up to February 14, 2023.
At least 25 soon-to-be married couples are scheduled to be solemnized on February 19, 2023 at Oriental Mindoro Heritage Museum (OMHM) in this city.
The celebration is derived from the Provincial Ordinance No. 141-2022, authored by Board Member Farrah Faye C. Ilano.

In her message, Ilano congratulated said couples and emphasized that marriage is a gift from God that should not be taken for granted as it will strengthen their union to build a harmonious family.
A symposium activity was also conducted with the participation of college students from different colleges and a university in the province.
Dr. Francis Daytec and his wife Leah served as speakers during the symposium. They shared their experience of married life and how they continue to choose each other despite trials in marriage. They also emphasized that strong faith in God is important for the life they chose to be successful with each other.
Present in the activity were Provincial Administrator Hubbert Christopher A. Dolor, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Zarah C. Magboo, and Rev. Stephen Saab who all gave their messages and reminders to students, especially to the soon-to-be-married couples. (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
