OTOP Hub, ADTEMPCO bring Abra products to Ilocos Sur

Bangued, Abra (PIA) – Abra products are now available outside the province through the newly opened Abra Diocesan Teachers and. Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (ADTEMPCO) Coopmart and OTOP Hub in Barangay Lungog, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur.

Abrenian bamboo crafts, abel, food products and basic necessities are now accessible for tourists and residents in Ilocos Sur with the launching of the the first Abra OTOP hub ouside the province, recently.

The launching of the mart and hub was led by ADTEMPCO Manager Engr. Irene Bringas, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) -Abra Provincial Director Marvin Arcangel, Narvacan Mayor Pablito Sanidad, Sr., Vice Mayor Carlos Valera, and Barangay Lungog Chairman Kristofferson Monis.

Arcangel said that this initiative aims to expand the reach of Abrenian local products into wider markets to provide local MSMEs with enhanced revenue opportunities.

“Through our OTOP program, we aim to showcase Abra’s unique skills, talents, traditions, and culture by offering products that are poised to excel in competitive market environment,” he stressed

Meanwhile, Sanidad expressed his warm welcome for another local business that would bring not affordable grocery items for the community but also quality-made Abra local products.

“Welcome to Narvacan and thank you for adding to the emerging, economic and business friendly Narvacan ecosystem,” he shared in a facebook post.

The ADTEMPCO and the DTI have been collaborating to launch more OTOP stores in the province and nearby areas. They were also able to open Abra’s first OTOP Hub in Pidigan and will be launching more stores in the other municipalities.

OTOP hubs are spaces or stalls offering the different local products of an area. This program aims to support micro, small, and medium enterprises in promoting and improving their products and services.(JDP/JJPM-PIA Abra)
