Over 12k NCR police all set for Undas

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — More than 12,000 police from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is all set for this year’s observance of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

NCRPO chief PMGen Sidney Sultan Hernia stressed the commitment to public safety of Metro Manila police force.

We are fully prepared to ensure a safe and peaceful observance of UNDAS for all. Our personnel are strategically deployed to cover all critical areas, and we will be on high alert to swiftly respond to any incidents.”

According to NCRPO, a total of 12,540 police personnel will be deployed in cemeteries, memorial parks, transportation hubs, and critical public spaces in Metro Manila.

Police personnel will join forces with personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and other force multipliers on the ground.

A total of 76 cemeteries and 58 columbariums will be monitored across Metro Manila. The robust presence reflects NCRPO’s commitment to prevent disruptions during Undas and ensure the safety of those paying respects to their loved ones.

Likewise, additional security measures are in place to include 692 law enforcement checkpoints across significant access points, 819 personnel deployed to monitor transportation hubs, and 426 road safety marshals positioned to ease traffic flow along major thoroughfares.

Quick Reaction and Quick Response Forces (QRT/QRF), including specialized SWAT and K9 units, will also be put on standby to handle emergencies and ensure immediate response if necessary. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
