QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — Some 16,252 graduating students in Valenzuela City public elementary and senior high schools received an educational incentive amounting to P1,500.

This initiative is in line with Ordinance No. 55, s. 2019, and Ordinance No. 1110, s. 2023, which provides for the distribution of financial assistance to every graduating and senior high school student as a way of incentivizing and recognizing their academic efforts.

“Hindi naman po ganoong kalakihan ang ibibigay po ng lokal na pamahalaan, ngunit kahit papaano po sana makatulong ito sa inyong mga gastusin at higit sa lahat, sana ito po’y maging motibasyon natin na lalo pa nating pagbutihin ang ating pag-aaral sa susunod na school year,” said Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian.

(Even though this incentive from the local government is not that much, I hope that this can help you with your expenses and most of all, I hope that this will give you the motivation to further exert hard work in your studies in the next school year.)

Meanwhile, an additional financial grant was given to the top five (5) students in all public schools in the city to acknowledge their compelling academic performance throughout the school year. Students who ranked first honor received P1,500, second honor with P1,000, while the students who placed 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the academic standing were given P500.

The distribution of the educational incentives started from May 15 until May 21. The initial phase of the distribution took place in Roberta De Jesus Elementary School, Disiplina Village Elementary School, Punturin Elementary School, AC Faustino Elementary School, Lawang Bato Elementary School, and Canumay East Elementary School.

Of the total number of the recipients of the financial incentives, 10,844 are graduating students at elementary level while the remaining 5,408 are graduating senior high school students in the city’s public basic education institutions. (Valenzuela PIO/PIA-NCR)
