Over 3,000 jobs up for grabs at Labor Day Job Fair in Cagayan de Oro

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) – More than 3,000 job opportunities will be available for jobseekers during the 123rd Labor Day Job Fair of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 at SM CDO Downtown on May 1.

A total of 3,418 job vacancies will be offered by 103 employers, consisting of 99 local companies and four overseas recruitment agencies. Available positions include sales personnel, food service crew, drivers, technicians, caregivers, welders, and others.

DOLE regional director Joffrey M. Suyao encouraged applicants to come prepared. “Job seekers should be ready with documents needed by employers and most importantly, ready with self-confidence,” he said.

Applicants are encouraged to pre-register via tinyurl.com/dole10jobfair2025  and check the DOLE NorthMin Facebook page for job listings and updates.

A one-stop shop will also be available on site to assist applicants in securing documents from agencies such as the Social Security System, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Philippine Statistics Authority, Philippine National Police, Home Development Mutual Fund, Department of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Trade and Industry, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and others.

Similar job fairs will also be conducted in Valencia City (Bukidnon), Iligan City, Tubod (Lanao del Norte), and Oroquieta City (Misamis Occidental). As of April 23, a total of 7,195 job vacancies have been reported across all five locations, with 171 participating employers.

The 123rd Labor Day celebration carries the theme “Mangagawang Pilipino, Kaagapay sa Pag-Unlad, Sandigan ng mas Matatag na Bagong Pilipinas,” recognizing Filipino workers as key partners in development and essential contributors to economic recovery and nation-building.

“Here in northern Mindanao, we are very proud to roll out meaningful and action-packed activities anchored on employment generation, livelihood support, workplace safety, and social protection,” Suyao said. (JMOR/PIA-10)
