Over 387K Estehanons register for PhilSys ID

BORONGAN CITY (PIA) — A total of 387,451 residents of Eastern Samar are already registered in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys ID) as of July 31, this year.

According to Chief Statistical Specialist Ronnie Bajado of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Eastern Samar, based on their data, some 197,081 were registered in 2021, some 177,493 were registered in 2022, and 12,877 this year.

Bajado said these PhilSys-registered individuals were already equivalent to 91.29% of the workload target of 424,441 individual residents in the province.

The Chief Statistical Specialist further said that the registration is ongoing in fixed registration sites in the different municipalities through their mobile registration in different barangays.

Meanwhile, 126,693 PhilSys IDs were already received by Philippine Postal (PhilPost) Office in Eastern Samar from May 1 to May 31, 2023.

Out of this figure, 82,758 have already been delivered to the individuals (65%), the remaining 43,912 is already for delivery by the personnel of PhilPost, while 23 PhilSys IDs were also returned to sender. The said PhilSys ID is in the custody of PhilPost ready to be claimed.

Additionally, 233,590 Electronic PhilSys ID (E-PhilSys ID) were delivered by PSA as of July 31, 2023.

Of this figure, 37,163 were delivered to the registered individuals (Mode 1) while those printed E-PhilSys ID registered at the Registration Center using the transaction slip is more than 196,427. These will be delivered personally by PSA personnel (Mode 2) to the individuals’ registered address or barangay hall. (MMP/SDC/PIA E. Samar)
